OK, I came late to this announcement, but the
Clean Energy Project at Harvard has begun their Phase 2 effort. This project looks at ways to improve the capacity for solar cells and for follow-on energy storage. At the moment Phase 2 is limited to Linux systems only, but they expect to release Windows and Mac versions soon.
So for all you Linux devotees out there who usually have to wait for a project release - here's your chance!
This is an "opt-in" project on WCG so you have to go to the site and select the project for your WCG mix. There are also some system limitations:
* run time requirements per work unit vary notably and range from about 2-12h
* temporary disk space requirement (max. 2GB)
* memory requirement is larger than other projects
* data transfer volume (about 20-80MB upload per work unit, one time download of 200MB) are higher than usual
* CEP2 is the first WCG project to use an external server - your results are directly uploaded to Harvard for optimum efficiency
