CUDA cards
« on: September 01, 2009, 09:52:29 PM »

What's a reasonably priced CUDA card for our crunching purposes.... the dual GTS that Aqua mentioned as the benchmark is a little ascinine at about $500 each run in tandem.  I have power supplies that are ready for SLI etc etc

I'm using a box as a poor man's media server, well maybe media player is more accurate, so a card with s-video out in addition to all the other crap is useful.

(-btw- I hate video card BS  ::))

I'd wait a few weeks. AMD/ATI is about to deliver a new generation of cards that blow Nvidia out of the water. Expect big price drops on Nvidia. ATI is roughly doubling the performance at some of the price points.

you mean the boinc graphics world?  'cause graphics cards passed cpu's for performance a while back...

the dumb thing is that they aren't using ATI cards, yet, just Nvidia

there must be some reason for it

I'd rather have an ATI card than Nvidia (think I'm using one right now)
