Well, I passed 1 Million on Einstein. Going back to running GPUgrid with my little video card.
With the summer heat, I'm only running one machine and it's a C2D dual core with an nVidia 9600gt. The quads are shutdown except for when I need something off of one of them. None of the quads have a discrete video card. About once a week, I bring up the quad that I keep my secondary disk backups on. If it's a cool day, I might let it run for the day but cool days are getting rare around here. The porch thermometer reached 100 at about noon today and it's in the shade.
One quad is down for repair. It needs new HDD and I will load Win7 on it. I'm going to replace the power supply on it since I've heard that the power supplies on that system are a source of drive failures. Also, putting in an 80+ bronze power supply to get more efficiency. The drive is failing the SMART test and will not finish a boot. I'm replacing it with 2 1TB drives so that I can do backups to the second drive. I'm getting real paranoid about backups :-)
