How many GPU's do we have out there? I have two...
One: a 9600 GT which seems to be reliable.
I've been thinking about getting a 5670 or 5770 for another system but I'm wondering how stable they are. Reading the customer reviews on a lot of sites will make you paranoid about almost any component made in the last year, especially video cards, memory, and disk drives (including SSDs). A lot of companies in the ram and disk market have people complaining that since they moved production to China, the products have huge DOA rates and failures within a few months.
Actually, for video card problems, I'd like to know how many of the ATI cards that are having problems are installed in systems with nVidia chipsets. Also, how many systems have power supplies that aren't up to the challenge. I've been replacing my power supplies with Antec Earthwatts 80+ certified PSUs which the local Staples puts on unadvertised sale occasionally.
