Sanctuary
« on: October 08, 2008, 12:21:40 PM »

Just watched the new series premiere of "Sanctuary" over at Sci-Fi Channel website.  Thought it was pretty darn good.  I really like Amanda Tapping...

Amanda Tapping is running a sanctuary for those-not-normal, human and otherwise.  She's 157 years old, and has a gorgeous blonde daughter, who is fearless and a kick-ass fighter.

I haven't been too impressed so far.  The show seems a little too much like BBC America's Torchwood which I like but this is much more predictable.   I really like Amanda Tapping but I have to say that is the worst British accent I have heard since Kevin Costner in Robin  Hood.  I think it has potential, I just want to see it get away from predictable stories.  In the pilot, I knew right after the start who the bad guy was.

I think part of the problem is that we're all so used to seeing Amanda Tapping on SG-1. It's kind of like seeing a friend that you know well, wearing a wig and talking different. It would be nice if there was a way to shut out the memories of Samantha Carter while watching sanctuary.
